People can be allergic to any type of food, but the eight most common foods that cause allergic reactions are the following:

  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Peanuts
  • Tree nuts (cashews, walnuts, etc.)
  • Fish
  • Shellfish
  • Soy
  • Wheat

To date there is no cure for food allergies. Avoidance is the only way to prevent an allergic reaction.
