Food Allergies on the Rise

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recently reported that four out of every 100 children have a food allergy. A national study of 9,500 children revealed that food allergies among children in the United States is becoming more common over time.

The key findings of the report, entitled "Food Allergy Among U.S. Children: Trends in Prevalence and Hospitalizations," are as follows:

Boston Walk Raises $1 Million for Autism

The 2008 Greater Boston Walk Now for Autism attracted 20,000 participants and raised $1 million for Autism Speaks, an advocacy organization.

The lively event, held October 19th at Suffolk Downs Racetrack in East Boston, MA, featured music, children’s activities, an informational resource fair and abundant refreshments. Arico lent its support by donating gluten- and dairy-free Cookie Bars and snack-sized bags of Cassava Chips
