Eco-Friendly

In an effort to contribute to protect our environment we are participating in two eco-friendly projects. First, for every store that begins to carry our Cassava Chips, we will plant a tree through the Global Re-Leaf 2 program.

Second, we are also thrilled to be the first carbon neutral gluten-free snack company in the world. Arico understands that carbon dioxide emissions, which contribute to global climate change, are created by many of our business' daily activities. We are taking a leadership role by calculating our CO2 footprint made up from both direct and indirect office emissions. These include electricity consumption, ac and natural gas usage, employee commuting and all company air travel associated with running our business headquarters in Oregon. We are working with Green Mountain Energy Company to offset 100% of our annual emissions through purchasing BeGreen carbon offsets.

Arico's purchase of carbon offsets from sources such as forest sequestration projects helps avoid about 17 metric tons of CO2 annually. Arico has significantly reduced the carbon footprint associated with its business operations. This commitment helps avoid over 37,000 pounds of CO2 per year and has the equivalent impact of not driving over 41,000 miles.
